Terranova to open Miami Beach food hall off Lincoln Road

THE REAL DEAL — March 30, 2017 — BY KATHERINE KALLERGIS On the ground floor of the new Marshalls building just off of Lincoln Road, Terranova Corp. plans to open a food hall by the summer of 2018.

The Lincoln Eatery, at 723 North Lincoln Lane, will join a handful of new food halls planned for the Miami area. Miami Beach-based Terranova is handling the management and leasing of the project, a 9,600-square-foot food hall that will have roughly 16 eateries, juicers and coffee-type tenants, Terranova Executive Vice President Mindy McIlroy told The Real Deal.

Within the food hall, spaces will range from 115 square feet to nearly 500 square feet, and spaces can be combined depending on the tenant. About 4,400 square feet will be leased to tenants and the remaining 5,200 square feet will be for seating and other common space. McIlroy declined to provide asking rents, but said they will be driven by expected sales volume.

Coral Gables garage development battle continues

MIAMI TODAY — December 13, 2016 — BY CATHERINE LACKNER. The competition to redevelop two garages owned by the City of Coral Gables is very much alive, city sources said this week.

Though an evaluation committee voted for a proposal by The Allen Morris Company and The Related Group on Dec. 6, “The city commission reserves the right to negotiate with the evaluation committee’s second choice, or with anyone,” said Javier Betancourt, city economic development director. The commission can also decide not to endorse any proposer, or to shelve the project altogether, he added.

The next step is for city staff to draw up a recommendation for the city’s manager’s review. The matter will then go to the commission.

The committee evaluated two proposals. TC Gables, an affiliate of Terranova Corp., which submitted the other proposal, is still very much in the game, said Josh Gelfman, Terranova director of development.

Overhaul: Coral Gables spruces up the Miracle Mile streetscape

FLORIDA TREND — June 2016 — BY ROCHELLE BRODER-SINGER. To boost evening and weekend business, downtown Coral Gables is undergoing major streetscape improvements. The two most radical changes on Miracle Mile will be 23-foot-wide sidewalks that can accommodate outdoor dining (sidewalks are currently 15 feet wide) and parallel parking along the street instead of angle parking. There will also be gardens, landscaping, more trees, decorative lighting and better directional signs, along with a new drainage system.

The parking change is the m ost controversial, since it will mean 96 fewer spaces (out of 236). Retailers – mostly locally owned stores – worry that customers who can’t easily park in front of their stores will go elsewhere.
