STEPHEN H. BITTEL is the Chairman and founder (1980) of Terranova Corporation, leading the firm’s ownership and operation of a significant commercial real estate portfolio. As the South Florida real estate has grown, Bittel has stayed connected to South Florida, serving his community for years. A Miami native, he has served on the Boards of the Chapman Partnership, the Miami-Dade Expressway Authority, Teach for America (TFA), and Jackson Memorial Hospital Foundation. Bittel also has served as a Trustee member for the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce, United Way of Miami-Dade and Temple Beth Am. He has led the Greater Miami Jewish Federation’s Washington Mission in 2009 and 2010 and is an active supporter and currently serves on the Advisory Board of Achieve Miami. Bittel graduated Magna Cum Laude from Bowdoin College in 1978 and obtained his law degree from the University of Miami School of Law in 1982.
As Terranova’s president, McIlroy oversees leasing, marketing and new business development for the company’s diverse retail portfolio, and has led the company’s strategy through its foray into mixed-use and High Street retail. With a track record of nearly a billion dollars in retail leasing deals, McIlroy’s expertise spans a wide gamut of retail properties, from suburban shopping centers to lifestyle entertainment centers to urban retail and mixed-use projects. She is a founding member of the Lincoln Road Property Owners Association; president of the Coral Gables Business Improvement District; board member of the National Parkinson Foundation and chairwoman of the Moving Day® Miami Committee. She has been ranked by CoStar as a Power Broker – Top Broker; acknowledged in 2015 by Real Estate Forum as a Southeast Woman of Influence; and recognized by the Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce as the 2016 AXA Advisors Businesswoman of the Year.
Ari Bittel is the Managing Director at Terranova Corporation. He joined the firm in 2020, bringing acquisition, financing, and asset management experience. Ari focuses his efforts on building and overseeing the investment management activities as well as working on the firm’s corporate development and strategy. Ari leads Terranova’s national and international growth strategies focusing on multifamily, industrial, and mixed-use real estate investments alongside private equity ventures. Before moving back to Miami, Ari was at New York based Innovo Property Group where he was responsible for the underwriting and execution of the firm’s acquisition, financing, and asset management endeavors totaling over $500 million. Previously, he was part of the investment management team at Rialto Capital in New York City, where he was responsible for analyzing over a billion dollars in debt and equity investments. Ari served in the United States Peace Corps stationed in the Dominican Republic within the Appropriate Technologies Division. A graduate of Bowdoin College, Ari lives in Miami and enjoys spending time with his family, heat games, and exploring the natural and built worlds.
