Terranova’s Dynamic Duo Lend Their Talents to The National Parkinson Foundation

MIAMI BEACH, FL – August 4, 2015 – If there is one thing Terranova has an abundance of, it’s influential women. This month we once again praise two of our finest, Mindy Mcilroy and Karen Maerovitz for being awarded a prestigious honor and for making such a large impact on our community.

Mcilroy, executive vice president and Maerovitz, commercial associate at Terranova are no strangers to positively impacting their communities. Mcilroy was recently named a Southeast woman of Influence by the Real Estate Forum and Maerovitz is on the committee of the South Florida chapter of 100 Women Who Care. This month they have been given the honor of leading the Moving Day® Miami board as co-chairs. Moving Day® Miami is an annual fundraising walk for Parkinson’s in support of the National Parkinson Foundation that highlights movement and exercise as a symbol of hope and progress because of its essential role in treating Parkinson’s disease.

Terranova’s constant involvement with the National Parkinson Foundation led them to be the 2015 presenting sponsor of Moving Day® Miami. In 2014 team Terranova, led by Mcilroy, beat all past national records and raised over $400,000. To spearhead fundraising this year, Terranova launched the “30 Shades of Blue” campaign, hosting 30 events in 30 days to “fun” raise for the National Parkinson Foundation raising close to $30k in one month.

“We are honored to have Mcilroy and Maerovitz join the 2015 Moving Day® Miami Committee. They both bring an innovative approach to building awareness and raising funds for Parkinson’s disease,” says Dreema Stokes, Moving Day® Miami Manager. “They are equally committed to our mission to make life better for people living with Parkinson’s.”

Moving day® Miami is scheduled for November 15 so come out and support the cause and don’t forget to congratulate Mindy and Karen in person. Please visit www.movingdaymiami.org for more information on upcoming events and information on how to donate to the National Parkinson Foundation.

Anthropologie Activates North Lincoln Lane.

MIAMI BEACH, FL – July 29, 2015 – Lincoln Road, Miami’s most famous landmark, an eight block expanse of shopping, dining, and entertainment is expanding due to the high demand from national retailers. Anthropologie will relocate to a new building set to break ground later this year.

Terranova has signed a 10-year lease with Anthropologie for 11,788 square feet at the proposed redevelopment at 801 Lincoln Road and is expected to open Fall 2016.

Founded in 1992, Anthropologie is a lifestyle brand that celebrates fashion, art, culture, design and discovery. Anthropologie is known for traveling the world in pursuit of special products that allow customers to express their individuality, creativity and personal style; from women’s apparel and accessories to home furnishings, décor and beauty. The brand is also admired for its one-of-a-kind store environments and window displays, created by dedicated teams of artists at each of its locations.

Anthropologie is currently located at 1108 Lincoln Road and will be moving into one of two buildings that Terranova will build at Meridian Avenue and Lincoln Lane North. The success of tenants on Lincoln Road has ultimately led to a demand for the expansion of the 8-block landmark street. As the largest property owner on Lincoln Road, Terranova has taken the lead in the activation of Lincoln Lane North by developing two three-story buildings at the Meridian Avenue intersection, bringing additional retail stores and a rooftop restaurant.

“Anthropologie’s new location on the prime intersection of Meridian Avenue and Lincoln Lane North is an optimal setting for the market established retailer,” says Mindy McIlroy Terranova’s executive vice president who represented the landlord in the deal. “Major retailers, like Anthropologie, are leading the pack and moving to side streets, as the pedestrian only Lincoln Road expands into a wider district.”

Brazilian Active Wear Coming to Lincoln Road

MIAMI BEACH, FL – July 29, 2015 – The fitness industry in the U.S. has exploded the past few years making it the largest gym industry in the world, followed only by Brazil. This boom has created a demand for activewear that is not only functional but also fashionable. Brazilian based brand Live! has embraced this fitness phenomenon with their first U.S. location coming to Lincoln Road.

Terranova has signed a 1-year lease with Live! for a 1,250 SF pop-up shop at 723 Lincoln Road, the world famous eight block strip in Miami Beach.

Live! is dedicated to bold, contemporary, and sophisticated activewear resulting in a style that is urban, functional, and casual. The seductive allure of Brazilian fashion is incorporated into Live!’s high-quality products offering a fun and flirtatious alternative to the typical activewear focused solely on functionality. They currently operate eight stores in Brazil and their pop-up shop on Lincoln Road marks their first brick-and-mortar venture into the U.S. with plans for further expansion in Florida and California.

“Within the U.S., we searched for an upscale, fashion oriented, trendy location. Lincoln Road was in fact a perfect fit,” says founder and CEO Gabriel Sens. “It’s young atmosphere driven from people around the world, is the perfect place to put our brand in the global stage. We are very excited to be here and feel that great things are coming!”

A health kick initiated by millennials has led to a growing fitness market in Miami which is heating up the boutique fitness scene propagated by businesses such as Green Monkey Yoga, Flywheel, and Exhale with many more entering the market. “This demand is spearheading an interest in fashionable and unique athleisure clothing that blurs the lines between activewear and everyday casual clothing,” says Terranova’s executive vice president Mindy McIlroy who represented the landlord in the deal. “With this growing trend and the immense amount of fitness facilities located in Miami Beach, Lincoln Road is an ideal location for the Live!.”

Live! will join a roster of national tenants including Steve Madden, Tumi, Macy’s, Apple, and Armani Jeans.
